Based on a single housing concept, up to seven (7) typologies are developed, depending on the number of bedrooms required and the flexibility of the program. This approach proves ideal—as is the case here—when a consistent proportion is applied across all typologies, allowing for adaptability should new needs arise. The versatility of the core model makes it possible to provide virtually the “same” dwelling to every household, thereby establishing a genuine principle of equality among the tenants.
The living space is consistently continuous, traversed throughout by long sightlines that extend the home into the outdoors—reaching beyond its own boundaries—without compromising the essential privacy of its inhabitants. Each dwelling opens onto both the street and the interior courtyard. This dual-aspect configuration ensures excellent cross-ventilation and ample sunlight, further enhanced by the stepped, descending profile of the building’s cross-section.
From the outset, the residences are designed to meet the highest energy efficiency standards, achieving the top ‘A’ energy rating. To this end, they are equipped with an underfloor heating and cooling system supported by an aerothermal (air-source heat pump) unit, as well as an exterior envelope featuring a ventilated façade made of extruded stoneware, thermally broken (RPT) framing, and high-efficiency low-emissivity glazing.
