“The purpose of architecture is to shelter and enhance man’s life on earth and to fulfill his belief in the nobility of his existence.” — Eero Saarinen.

A development of four semi-detached single-family homes in the heart of the Val d’Aran, in Aubèrt—a privileged location just 5 minutes from Vielha and less than 15 minutes from the Baqueira-Beret ski slopes. This project prioritizes comfort, efficiency, and design, offering a high-performance second home in the heart of the Pyrenees. It features stunning views and is designed with generous outdoor spaces to be enjoyed year-round.

The precise design of passive elements—together with a high-performance, ventilated, multi-layered timber roof and stone-clad facades—provides excellent thermal inertia and insulation. This results in low heating and cooling demands, despite the extreme climate experienced throughout the year.

Furthermore, the project demonstrates a firm commitment to energy efficiency by incorporating a high-efficiency energy generation system. This, combined with radiant floor heating and cooling, a controlled air-renewal system with heat recovery, electric vehicle charging points, and home automation, results in dwellings with very low energy consumption (nZEB) that achieve the highest energy rating (A).
